Ann Hand's Salon, WFWDC member and Washington 's premier designer of patriotic jewelry opened her new Georgetown Salon exclusively for members to network and enjoy. Members learned more about the one-of-a-kind designs Ann crafted for Washington 's leading women including First Ladies, Cabinet members, Senators, Congresswomen, and Ambassadors.

IWF World Leadership Conference & Gala, Global Courage: Women Embracing Risk, drew participants from 70 nations with 45 embassies participating from Azerbaijan to Zambia. On Capitol Hill to Embassy Row, at the World Bank to luncheons with the two women icons of the U.S. Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Day O'Connor -- and the Minister of Women's Affairs of Afghanistan, to an International Hall of Fame ceremony celebrating the inductions of U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Afghan General Khatol Mohammadzai and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the 3-day program was filled with moments that stirred many emotions, invoked pride in the hope for the next generation, and connected IWF members to their core appreciation of women's role in shaping a stronger global community.

The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian, with member and NMAI's Associate Director for Museum Resources, Elizabeth Duggal. Experienced docents led members on a tour that highlighted the museums most impressive exhibits, including a fascinating collection of modern Native art. Afterwards members had lunch in the Patron's Lounge and were treated to breathtaking views of the US Capitol and National Mall.

"WFWDC Ladies Do Lunch at 1789," with Ris Lacoste and Kitty Kelley. Executive Chef, Ris Lacoste prepared a culinary masterpiece while Kitty charmed each guest with an in-depth interview.

"Summer Reading & A Dine Around" hosted by Margaret Cary & Linda Greenhouse. On this evening, Linda discussed her recent book, Becoming Justice Blackmun, a biography of the Supreme Court Justice who wrote Roe v. Wade and whose collected papers provide a window onto life on the Supreme Court during the last quarter of the 20th century.

WFWDC Annual Meeting. The WFWDC Board of Directors hosted this popular event and talked about the success of the past year and identified goals for the year ahead. The members elected a new slate of officers who will lead the Forum from 2005 to 2007.

Tour of Hillwood Museum & Gardens, Hosted by Charlene Drew Jarvis. After a welcome from the Museum's Executive Director, members toured the former home and gardens of Marjorie Merriweather Post, an estate she bequeathed to the city of Washington in 1973.
